SUMMARY:HAPPY HEADS
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition presented the works of a French-Chinese artist duo\, Benoît+Bo\, who use their respective heritage to create surprising contemporary works which combine East and West and look at the world surrounding us in a half amusing half bitter way. These two contemporary artists whose works have been exhibited all over Europe\, but also in Hong Kong and Australia\, reinterpret a series of masks made of papier mâché traditionally worn at the Lantern feast in China. They repaint them and stage them in photo montages and videos. “Happy Heads” juxtaposed their works with the collections of the international Carnival and Mask Museum in such a way that a link was created between the past (the traditional ritual) and the present (the view of contemporary artists of this ritual). This exhibition was organized within the framework of the 12th biennial contemporary art festival ARTour “D’un temps à l’autre”. \n
